A downloadable tool for Windows

FractalFlow turns fractal seeds into animated videos. It's a free, MIT-licensed, portable Windows app with a native Direct3D 12 GPU renderer, a CPU fallback, procedural visual workspaces and a timeline editor.

WHAT YOU CAN MAKE

  • 2D and 3D fractal animation: 233 formulas across 14 families, including Mandelbrot/Julia-style sets, Mandelbulb/Mandelbox, KIFS, quaternion slices, flames, attractors, Buddhabrot, cellular automata and L-systems.
  • Layered compositions with blend modes, opacity, color keys and per-layer motion.
  • Animated seeds, camera segments, keyframes and interpolation, with interval previews before a full render.
  • Procedural visuals in Live FX, Generator Lab and Shader Lab (Twigl and Shadertoy-style workflows).
  • Clip Studio: trim, change speed, ping-pong clips, animate effects and export edited copies.
  • Automation via Auto Builder, the command line, or a local HTTP API.

REQUIREMENTS

Windows x64 (Windows 10 1809+ or Windows 11), a Direct3D 12-capable GPU (CPU fallback available), Microsoft Edge WebView2 for the procedural workspaces. FFmpeg is downloaded on demand for video encoding.

Unzip into a writable folder (e.g. C:\FractalFlow) and run Fractalflow.exe. No separate .NET install needed.
